200 Editions: We Can Still Do Better.
The need is too great , our kids deserve our best …what we have shared so far.
Today marks the 200th edition of The Physical Movement. Started during the pandemic, The Physical Movement (TPM) is a weekly newsletter for all those involved and touched by youth sports. Athletes, coaches, educators, administrators, parents and officials.
We cover leadership through play, sports, and human performance.
We have leaders in every community. Those leading across various sports and disciplines. Those who have invested their time and energy to introducing fun, skills, discipline, perseverance, and practice.
Whom have taught the values of teamwork, commitment, competition and overcoming adversity. Whom work tirelessly for the benefit of our next generation so they can benefit physically, mentally and socially. Many of whom work without a blueprint. TPM attempts to provide and share some of that.
We also have a number of challenges, obstacles and in some cases those involved whom have lost their way and gone in the opposite direction. Whom have let ego, financial gain and selfishness get in the way of helping our kids.
Our editions so far have been wide ranging talking to those who have made a positive impact, identified areas to improve and shared a wide ranging level of expertise.
We have documented best practices as it pertains to physical development, social and emotional development as well leadership. TPM has shared blueprints and best practices, shared stories and examples as well as highlighted potholes and bumps in the road.
Quite honestly, I was not sure when this started where it would go or how there was to cover. I am still not sure, but what I can be sure of are 2 things:
1. There is lots of material to cover.
2. There is still lots of work to do .
Our most precious asset is time, so for you to spend a few minutes with us every week is very much appreciated.
TPM will continue to cover topics relevant to improving the youth sport experience. We are still experiencing the impact of it being removed during pandemic times. The level of illness and struggle is alarming and toughest on the younger generation.
We owe it to them to pave the way towards strength and character. Youth sport has a strong role to play and worthy of our time to do it right.
Please feel free share or comment on any topics you would like covered, in the meantime here are some of our most popular articles in case you have missed:
