One of our most popular posts of the year focused on a remedy for our current mental health crisis.
We are almost through 2023. One more Sunday after this and most of the western world is feverishly spinning around pre-Christmas festivities.
Thanks to those of you spending a few minutes with us during this hectic time, and here is hoping you find time for yourself during this holiday season.
Time and care for ourselves must take priority. We can make greater contributions in this world when we are in a good place ourselves.
Edition 195 of The Physical Movement from March was one of our most read articles of 2023. It focused on youth sport being a prescription for better mental health.
This topic is a trigger for me personally. Physical activity and sport have had massive positive impacts on my well being for as long as I can remember. From a very young age to this day, I am in a much better place mentally when I am active regularly.
This article was motivated by some of the recent research linking regular physical activity with treating mental health disorders such as depression.
Some of this science has been around for years, however, the studies get more and more compelling.
Edition 195 dove into some of this research and provided some action items for us all to play a role in combating what is being called a current mental health crisis with our youth.
Enjoy the article and have a great holiday season!
