This is a very valuable article for parents. Erica's own story of healthy movement across a broad range of games and activities as a young child is especially important, and lucky for her, gave her the many repetitions of fundamental movements that built the capacity to be an athlete when mature. Skipping over those valuable movements of vigorous but playful activities is no short cut to success, but rather a short cut to mechanical movements that are not fully integrated in the human being, leading, as she tells us, to injury and burnout and more.
